Blood Pressure Measurement with ECG trigger for treadmills

with ECG trigger

This option enables accurate and reliable automatic blood pressure measurement during a treadmill stress test, not disturbed by motion artifacts. The blood pressure module can be integrated with all commonly known and available stress test ECG equipment using RS232 and ECG connections. This means that the BP measurement can be started from the ECG stress test system and the data can be automatically recorded on the printed patient report. Korotkoff sounds are measured during BPM and analyzed using 3D K-sound analysis. This option can only be ordered in combination with the (Programmable) control unit with touchscreen (945814/5).

Note: always verify with Lode if the BP option can be added for communication with your external CPET system.

Easy to operate

For Lode products this means:
- easy to connect
- easy to move around
- easy user interface

High standards

Lode is a socially and environmentally responsible company. All Lode products are RoHS/WEE compliant and Lode is ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 13485:2016 certified. All medical products comply to MDD 93/42/EEC, incl. IEC 60601-1.

Compatible with ECG and pulmonary devices

The treadmill can be controlled by all external stress test ECG and ergospirometry devices through the RS232 or USB port. This is possible because besides the programmed Lode protocol, all known communication protocols are programmed as well.

Versatile Interfacing

Various interface protocols guarantee perfect communication with all commonly known stress ECG and spirometry equipment

The following cleaning methods have been applied 20 times to the cuff without any apparent negative effects.

1. Medical Disinfectant Spray
The cuff may be sprayed with a mild disinfectant solution (e.g. Cidezyme®, ENZOL®, or 10% bleach solution), rinsed with distilled water, and line dry. Ensure that no liquid enters the bladder tubing.

2. Medical Disinfect Wipe
Use a mild disinfectant wipe (e.g. Sani-Cloth®) and thoroughly wet cuff surface and line dry.

3. Machine Wash
Remove bladder and K-sound Microphone to machine wash the cuff shell. Machine wash warm (50–130°F, 10–54°C) with a mild detergent and line dry.
The K-sound Microphone can be cleaned using a mild disinfectant wipe (e.g. Sani-Cloth®) and letting the microphone line dry.
Presence of atrial or ventricular fibrillation, arrhythmias, pacemakers, etc. may interfere with the normal functionality of the BP monitor.

Specifications Blood Pressure Measurement Measurement: Auscultatory, using R-wave gating and k-sound analysis, during all static and active phases of stress testing. Systolic pressures correlate to a K-1 Korotkoff sound. Diastolic pressures correlate to K-5 Korotkoff sound. The device is designed to function in the presence of a normal ECG sinus rhythm. There are some physical conditions (i.e. Bundle Branch Block, Arrhythmias, Arial Fibrillation, Ventricular Fibrillation, Pacemakers, etc.) that may limit the ability of BP Monitor to obtain an accurate reading.

Notes on Blood Pressure Data Any blood pressure reading can be affected by the measurement site, the position of the patient, exercise, or the patient’s physiologic condition. Environmental or operational factors which can affect the performance of the device and/or its blood pressure reading are pacemakers and common arrhythmias such as atrial or ventricular premature beats or atrial fibrillation, arterial sclerosis, poor perfusion, diabetes, age, pregnancy, pre-eclampsia, renal diseases, patient motion, trembling, and shivering.
Yes, this is possible in combination with an ECG system. For accurate blood pressure measurements a heart rate trigger is required, therefore an external ECG system is necessary. Which ECG systems are compatible with the Lode devices can be found in the tab Interfacing of the device of interest.

Note: with the Valiant Ultra's please consider the treadmill size.
Yes, Due to the fact that the scientific research on the spread of Covid-19 is not yet conclusive Lode recommends to disinfect and clean all Lode products and their accessories (cuffs, heart rate belts, SpO2 sensors, handgrips/rails, touchscreens etc) that are in contact with the patient and or the medical personnel with a standard disinfectant as used in the hospital before and after every patient, with attention and care!

Since these agents are sometimes aggressive it might be advisable to check the effect on sensitive surfaces, like cushioning on non-visible areas. Lode will not take responsibility for discoloration due to these agents.
When the automatic Blood Pressure option is available on the Lode ergometer, this module is compatible with LCRM. You can program the blood pressure interval in the exercise protocols.
